Presentation: Realizing the God Dream: Embracing technology, aesthetics, and morality to transform Fantasy by J-Walt. Pioneering a new art form for creating and exploring VR worlds as a musical visual performance. A combination of art, music, dance, animation and theater that is only now possible here in the 21st century. A talk about how art is an integration of aesthetics, technology, and morals, and how his work is both a realization of an age-old dream, and a metaphor for an even greater human dream.
J-Walt is a performer, interactive designer, filmmaker, graphic artist, and composer. He performs regularly in theaters and planetariums in the LA area and around the world. He has been at the forefront of interactive art and computer performance, expanding the uses of computer animation into uncharted territories. He is an award-winning pioneer of computer-generated puppetry, having created many digital puppets over the years. In March of 2006, he won an Academy Award for his development of a real-time pre-visualization system.
Future Salons are monthly educational, activist, and social events, focused on existing or emerging scientific, technological, entrepreneurial, or social change topics and projects worthy of your help and attention. We also cover critical-thinking, management, and personal change topics, and occasionally longer-term scientific and philosophical topics. Our goal is to make our rapidly changing world more fascinating, manageable, profitable, and positive-sum for all of us. We strive to be both doing-action-project oriented, and thinking-idea-prioritizing oriented. About the Future Salon Network initiated by John Smart: http://www.accelerating.org/futuresalon.html
